Penang is the state in Malaysia and the name of its constituent island, located on the coast northwest of Peninsular Malaysia for the Strait of Malacca. With it pretty Kedah in the north and this one, and Perak in the south. Penang is the second smallest Malaysian state in the area after Perlis, and the eighth most populous. It is formed of two parts -- Isla de Penang and Seberang Perai in the Peninsula Malay.
