Penang is the state in Malaysia and the name of its constituent island, located on the coast northwest of Peninsular Malaysia for the Strait of Malacca. With it pretty Kedah in the north and this one, and Perak in the south. Penang is the second smallest Malaysian state in the area after Perlis, and the eighth most populous. It is formed of two parts -- Isla de Penang and Seberang Perai in the Peninsula Malay. The services of ferries that the English Channel crosses, provided by the Service of ferries Penang, join George Town y Butterworth, and there were the only relation between the island and the continent until the bridge was constructed in 1985. Since it is the norm for many cities with this climate, George Town experiences relatively consistent temperatures everywhere on the course of the year, with a high average temperature of approximately 31 degrees centigrade and a low average of 24 degrees centigrade.
